Where we work
Snap Repairs is a mobile appliance repair service based in Wollongong, covering the Illawarra & Shoalhaven — from Helensburgh at the top of the escarpment down through Wollongong, Dapto and Shellharbour to Kiama, Gerringong, Berry and the northern edge of Nowra. We repair washing machines, dryers, dishwashers and fridges, and we come to you: there’s no workshop drop-off and no carting a wet washing machine across town. Our technicians carry the parts that fail most often, so most repairs are finished at your home in a single visit.
What “service area” actually means
We’re on the road every weekday, and we plan each day’s jobs as runs — a northern run up the coast through Corrimal, Woonona and Thirroul, and a southern run down through Unanderra, Dapto, Shellharbour and on to Kiama. Booking you onto the run that already passes your suburb is how we keep call-out costs down and turnaround quick: most jobs we’re there within the week, often within a couple of days. Wollongong itself is home base, so the city and its surrounding suburbs are covered just about every day.
The call-out fee depends on distance, and you’ll know it before you book. For the core Illawarra — Wollongong and its suburbs, Dapto, Albion Park, Shellharbour, Warilla, Oak Flats, Kiama, Jamberoo, Gerringong and the rest of postcodes 2500–2534 close to the Princes Highway — the call-out is $100, covering travel and diagnosis. For the further ends of the patch — Helensburgh, Thirroul, Bulli and Woonona in the north, and Berry, Shoalhaven Heads and North Nowra in the south — it’s $150. If we can fix the fault on the spot there’s a flat $50 labour fee on top, and if parts are needed we quote first with the $50 credited toward the repair. No overtime or after-hours surcharges, ever.
